Dropbox is a file system. Panza is a use system.
Dropbox is built to hold almost anything: documents, photos, videos, folders, project files, backups, and shared work. That flexibility is the point.
Panza is intentionally narrower. It starts with the documents that keep interrupting real life: an insurance card, passport copy, vehicle paper, warranty, membership record, or another item you need to recognize quickly.
When Dropbox is the better choice
Choose Dropbox when you need broad cloud storage, folder structures, device sync, backup, large file sharing, or collaboration around files.
If the question is “Where should all these files live?”, Dropbox is designed for that job.
When Panza is the better choice
Choose Panza when the question is closer to “What is the policy number?” or “Where is the right passport copy?”
The useful detail can live on the card while the original document remains attached behind it. You get the shortcut without losing the source.
You do not need to migrate your digital life
Panza does not need to become another giant archive.
Keep your general files where they already work. Put the smaller set of important, repeatedly used documents into a system designed for that moment of use.
That is the difference: less filing, faster recognition.
