Notes are brilliant when the thing you need is a note
Evernote is designed to collect many kinds of information: writing, tasks, web clips, images, documents, and project context. Its flexibility is a strength.
But an important personal document creates a slightly different problem. You often need one reusable detail now and the full source later.
When Evernote is the better choice
Use Evernote when you are thinking, writing, planning, researching, clipping from the web, or keeping mixed information around a project or topic.
If the information starts as your note, Evernote gives it a natural home.
When Panza is the better choice
Use Panza when the information starts as a document: a passport, insurance record, vehicle paper, warranty, membership, or similar item.
Instead of copying the useful bits into a separate note, the card can surface them while the original document stays connected behind it.
One less thing to keep in sync
A note about a document creates two things: the note and the source.
That is perfectly fine when the note adds real value. It is less useful when the note exists only because the original document is awkward to use.
Panza is built for that second case.
